In 1975, North Carolina National Bank (now Bank of America), headquartered in Charlotte, NC, recruited Mr. In Denver, he was an active member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. His banking career began in 1956 at the United Bank of Denver, where he remained for 19 years and held the distinctions of being the youngest person to be named an officer, as well as vice-president of the bank. He graduated from Pueblo Central High School the University of Denver, where he was Grand High Alpha of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and student body president The University of Colorado Graduate School Of Banking and Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration. BUCHANAN, Donald Duane Former banking executive and a founding member of Moffitt Cancer Center, Donald Duane Buchanan, 78, passed away at Tampa General Hospital on May 23, 2014. Services will be held at 10 am on May 26 at Our Lady of Lourdes in Dunedin. Her lively personality and upbeat smile will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. After moving to Florida she sold real estate and was active in her community at Mediterranean Manors in Dunedin. During her long and rich life, she sang in musical theater, was the proprietor of Ocean City's vintage Scarborough Hotel, enjoyed golf and decorative painting, and sang soprano in the Dunedin Community Chorus and church choirs. For over 30 years she taught in public schools in Cheltenham, PA and Ocean City, NJ, and is fondly remembered by her many students. Before moving to Florida she sang professionally with her late first husband, Tom Perkins. She was born in 1920 and grew up in the Philadelphia area, graduating from college as a music major. Doris was a witty, beautiful lady and a talented singer. She is survived by her husband, Robert three children, Thomas, Polly and Michael three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
